The World

Picture
Picture
Picture
Journey into a world of magic and wonders. A world of monsters, villains, and heroes. Each Tale of Sorceria will visit a different area of the vast continent of Sorceria, telling the tales of different bands of heroes and their quests to thwart evil.

The Eight Classes

Select Four heroes from a total of Eight character classes. Who will you select to go?

Fighter

Picture
The Fighter is the powerhouse of the party. The Fighter's feats allow him to gain very high ability scores quicker than any other class. The Fighter also has 8 inventory slots, allowing him to carry the most items. The only downside is that the Fighter cannot learn any skills.

Feats

  • Weaponry: Adds power, agility, and defense.
  • Muscle: Boosts strength stat.
  • Reflexes: Boosts agility stat.
  • Toughness: More HP at level up.
  • Athlete: More stat points at level up.

Wizard

Picture
The Wizard can learn a variety of spells. Some spells deal magical damage that ignores physical defenses while other spells inflict abnormal states. In addition, some spells target the entire enemy party, making it easier to clear waves of enemies quickly.

However, spells tend to have lower hit rates than physical attacks. Also, they are very expensive to purchase.

Feats

  • Arcana: Needed to learn higher level arcana spells.
  • Evocation: Boosts damage of magic attacks.
  • Craft: Adds uses to spells.
  • Genius: Gets more experience in battle.
  • Reason: Talk Skill. Needed during negotiations.

Bard

Picture
Bard songs can alter ability scores such as Power, Wisdom, and Agility. This becomes especially important in Hardcore Mode, where enemy ability scores are much higher than yours. You can also use the Bard's Scan ability to spot weaknesses in enemy defenses, allowing you to employ the most effective weapons and spells.

Feats

  • Song: Needed to learn higher level songs.
  • Music: Increase status change duration.
  • Scan: Ability to scan enemy stats in battle.
  • Lore: Knowledge of ancient fables and legends.
  • Bluff: Talk Skill. Ability to make stuff up.

Vagrant

Picture
The Vagrant is an advanced class that's recommended for a player going through the game a second time and is familiar with the feats from other classes. The Vagrant gains a random selection of four feats. Sometimes this may produce surprisingly effective combinations. On the other hand, some feats may become quite useless when not paired with complementary feats from the same class.

Feats

The vagrant gets a random selection of 4 feats from any class. He could deal damage like fighters, cast spells like wizards, or lockpick like rogues. Depending on what he gets, the Vagrant has the potential to be the Best or the Worst class.

Morph

Picture
The Morph can learn up to 5 enemy skills. She can also mimic skills of other party members. Lastly, she can clone the ability scores of any monster, including bosses. This enables her to adapt to any situation, no matter how strong the opposition.

The trade-off is that the Morph cannot equip any weapons or items and must rely entirely on her skills.

Feats

  • Mimic: Morph Eye. Can mimic ally skills.
  • Copy: Morph Eye. Can learn enemy skills.
  • Shapeshift: Morph Eye. Duplicates target stats.
  • Focus: Increase hit% of all attacks.
  • Intimidate: Talk Skill. Needed during negotiations.

Rogue

Picture
Annoyed by the various traps in the dungeon areas? Frustrated by the numerous locked doors and chests? Add a Rogue to your team and never worry about those again. The Rogue can unlock chests and doors so you don't have to spend extra money on keys. She is also hard to hit in battle and allows easier escapes. Like the Fighter, the Rogue has 8 inventory slots and cannot learn any skills.

Feats

  • Acrobatics: Increased evasion%.
  • Lockpicking: Can open locked chests and doors.
  • Trap Expert: Avoids trap damage in dungeons.
  • Escape: Easier time running from battles.
  • Goldfinger: Get more gold in battle.

Cleric

Picture
The Cleric specializes in healing and curing party members of abnormal states. Her whole party Heal spell enables you to recover quickly from mass area enemy spells while her Reviva spell allows you to bring back fallen members.

Feats

  • Faith: Needed to learn higher level holy spells.
  • Enlighten: Boosts wisdom stat.
  • Purity: Boosts spirit stat.
  • Serenity: Quicker recovery from abnormal conditions.
  • Medic: Auto recovery after battle.

Dancer

Picture
The Dancer can perform dances that shift the battle in your favor by augmenting elements favorable to you and dampening elements favoring the enemy. She is also quite useful when conversing with villagers and buying items from merchants. Also, her perception skill allows you to spot otherwise hidden secrets.

Feats

  • Dance: Needed to learn higher level dances.
  • Beauty: Sometimes looks is everything...
  • Shopping: Get more money when buying or selling.
  • Perception: Ability to detect secret treasure and doors.
  • Charm: Talk Skill. Ability to make friends.

Features

★★★ Every character class is unique. Will you pick the Bard, who can scan for enemy weaknesses and help solve puzzles? Will you pick the Morph, who can mimic enemy attacks and clone their stats? Or will you pick the Wizard, who can level waves of enemies instantly with powerful spells? 8 different classes, 8 completely different play styles.

★★★ All weapons, items, and monster stats are randomly generated every game.

★★★ From flooded caves to labyrinthine corridors to undersea restaurants. Your heroes will explore a variety of underwater locations.

★★★ “Final Fantasy Legend” (or Saga in JP) inspired combat system where nearly every item has limited uses.

★★★ Pick "Normal Mode" for a fun, casual RPG. Or dare the "Hardcore Mode" for a challenging old school experience.

★★★ Although Sorceria 2 takes place in the same world as Sorceria 1, Sunken City is a completely new story with new characters. It is not necessary to play Sorceria 1 prior to this game.

Help! I keep on drowning at Market Street!

Hints
1. As soon as the place starts flooding, START RUNNING back the way you came.
2. Before you trigger the Flood Run event, make sure you know the twists and turns of Market Street. In other words, plan your getaway route first.
3. Once you're familiar with this, you should be able to reach the exit with seconds to spare.

Good luck!

How do I get my Morph to learn different skills after 5 skills?

Hints
1. After the Morph has copied 5 skills, and she copies again, only her TOPMOST skill in the inventory position-wise will be replaced by the new one.
2. Although she can't unequip, the Morph can still rearrange the order of her skills. Simply place the least desirable skill in the topmost slot, and it will be replaced the next time you successfully use Copy Eye.

Where is Sage's Golden Book?

Hints
1. This is mostly a "social quest" where you have to talk to different people to find it.
2. You may not be able to complete this depending on what Character Class/Feats you have.
3. You'll have to find the right conversations with the right NPCs.
4. There IS something that you can do to trigger the NPCs to say different things. Can you figure out what it is?

I found some doors that I couldn't open with any key.

Hints
1. Only the Rogue or Vagrant with the max Lockpicking feat can open them. There's usually good treasure in there, but it's only for teams with Lockpicking.
2. You can complete the game without going into any of these locked rooms.

How do I read the mysterious stone tablets scattered in the tunnels?

Hints
1. You need a Bard or Vagrant with the Lore feat at a high enough level to read them.
2. They contain valuable skills or Blueprints, but you can complete the game without reading them.

I'm stuck in the Infinite Rooms!

Hints
1. Did you remember to talk to Sage Sagebrook before you left the labs? He may have something to say about this.
2. Re-read the passage regarding the "Jewel of White". Think prism.
3. There is SOME trial and error here. So you'll have to do a little recording. But there's a logical path.

4. If you're really stuck, just keep going west to get out.

I can't find the Jewel of Green!

Hints
1. As the Bard says, the clue to the Jewel of Green is referring to something very common.
2. Search all the ruins. Did you find one that's connected to the collapsed tunnel? As Johnny said, Marius detected a magical aura near there. The Jewel of Green is somewhere around that place.
3. Look around. Maybe you'll find what you need in an unexpected place...

I can't find the Jewel of Blue!

Hints
1. First, locate the merfolk trading junction in the ocean. This is somewhere to the north west.
2. There is a pool of water in the center of the place. When your hero interacts with it, she will say "A strange pool of water...". That's the "Mirror."
3. Notice the place has various crystal switches. The switches toggle the light mechanisms in the pool. When you finally get it to match the Message, head to the Mirror and...get ready...
4. See this map http://www.watermarkrpg.com/sorceria-2-blue-gem-area.html if you are still stuck.
